Law on reducing excise payments 

So it happened!

From August 1, 2016, the law on reducing excise payments for customs clearance of used cars produced after January 1, 2010, with EURO 5 engine and above. 

This law significantly reduces the cost of "customs clearance of cars".

For internal combustion engines ( Gasoline) the excise duty will be:

- For cars with engines up to 1,000 cc 0.102 euros per 1 cc 

      (was - 1.09-1.44 euros, depending on the year of manufacture of the car); - with an engine up to 1,500 cc - EUR 0.063

  (was - 1.37-1.76 euros); - with an engine up to 2,200 cc - 0.267 EUR

   (was - 1.64-2.44 euros); - with an engine up to 3,000 cc up to 0.276 EUR

    (was - 2.21-4.99 euros); - with an engine capacity of over 3,000 cc - 2,209 euros

    (was - 3.33-4.99 euros).

For diesel engines (customs clearance of Diesel cars) the excise duty will be:

- with an engine up to 1,500 cc 0.103 EUR per cm3

   (it was 1.367 EUR per cm3) - with an engine capacity from 1 500 to 2500 cc - 0.327 EUR per cm3

    (it was 1.367 EUR per cm3) - with an engine capacity of more than 2 500 cc - 2.209 EUR per cm3

    (was 2.779 EUR per cm3)

IMPORTANT!!!! There are some restrictions for preferential customs clearance of cars, namely:

- Cars manufactured in the territory of a country recognized as an occupying state or an aggressor state in relation to Ukraine.  Or on cars that are imported from the territory of such a state!!!!;

- cars produced before January 1, 2010; - vehicles that do not comply with Euro-5 and higher environmental standards. - for individuals when importing more than one car during the year.

When alienating (selling) a car imported at a reduced rate within 365 days – all payments must be paid in full. The law is valid until December 31, 2018.
